Instituto Halal focuses its efforts on providing the best certification service to its clients and tries to act as a bridge to Muslim markets, both locally and internationally.

The demand for halal products is growing and business opportunities are constantly emerging that may be of interest. In order to identify, promote and make these business opportunities visible, Instituto Halal often attends and participates in fairs, seminars, conferences and other events related to the sector, while undertaking numerous actions and campaigns to promote the halal guarantee mark and the products covered by it.

These actions allow us to keep up to date with new market trends, business lines, halal standards, regulations, etc. and help us to establish links with the different actors that form part of the business fabric.

At the end of the day, the main objective is the interconnection between the different agents operating in the market both nationally and internationally, increasing the impact and prospects for growth.

Thus, in March, Instituto Halal was present at a variety of events; sectoral fairs, television programmes, online seminars or accompanying institutional visits to our country. We were present at:

– MEAT ATTRACTION 2023:

Held at IFEMA (Madrid), from 6 to 8 March. Dedicated to the development, promotion and growth of the meat industry, where our executive director Ms. Hilene Galán Laureano attended to learn first-hand about the current situation of a sector that is so vital for us.

As part of the events organised at the fair, Mr. Muhammad Escudero Uribe, Director of the Certification Department of Instituto Halal, took part in one of the round tables, the theme of which was “Interprofessionals facing the challenge of the Halal market”.

– MEETING: OPPORTUNITIES OF THE HALAL SECTOR IN THE ARABIGAN PENINSULA

Organised by EXTENDA in online and face-to-face mode in the city of Seville, on 10 March. Ms. Hilene Galán Laureano attended as a speaker along with other experts in the sector.

– WEBINAR: HALAL CERTIFICATION: YOUR PASSPORT TO MUSLIM MAJORITY COUNTRIES

Webinar organised together with ASEMPEA on 14th March. The event was attended by more than 100 people and focused on the opportunities of the Halal market in ASEAN. We had the participation of Mr. Antonio Viñal (Partner – Director of AVCO Legal and Secretary General of ASEMPEA) as moderator, and with the participation of Mr. Tomás Guerrero (Director of Halal Trade and Marketing Centre), Mr. Muhammad Escudero Uribe and Ms. Lourdes Sáenz Hernáiz (Quality Manager of Megaro Foods).

– FORBES SUMMIT SUSTAINABILITY – CÓRDOBA

Held at the Real Círculo de la Amistad (Córdoba), on 16th March, and organised by Forbes Spain. Dedicated to the presentation, discussion and ways of implementing sustainability processes and new technologies, with the participation of leading personalities from different public and private entities, in which several of our colleagues had the pleasure of attending; Ms. Isabel Romero Arias, Ms. Hilene Galán Laureano, Ms. Barbara Ruiz Bejarano and Ms. Chaimae El Ouadghiri (Certification Dept.).

 

 

 

 

– INSTITUTO HALAL RECEIVES A DELEGATION FROM MUIS (SINGAPORE HALALAL COUNCIL) Both in the city of Seville visiting one of the certified companies (AGROSEVILLA) and in the headquarters of Instituto Halal in Cordoba, on March 17th. Instituto Halal had the honour of receiving a delegation from MUIS with the aim of getting to know our organisation, history, structure and functioning. Complete news.

– WEBINAR: TRADE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE MEXICAN POULTRY SECTOR – HALAL CERTIFICATION FOR POULTRY MEAT PROCESSING
In online format, on 22, 23 and 24 March. Organised by the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development together with the National Union of Poultry Farmers. Dedicated to the opportunities that exist in the Mexican market and how halal certification can act as a means of opening up new lines of business. With the participation of Mr. Muhammad Escudero Uribe, director of certification of the Halal Institute, and Mr. Said Bouzraa Tahiri, chief auditor and director of auditing, inspection and control.

 

 

 

 

 

In addition to other actions and participations during this month, the team working participated in the training given by DNV, on 6 and 7 March, on the international standard ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management Systems, in order to improve the qualification of staff in food safety and adapt to the requirements of halal standards and accreditation bodies, which are becoming increasingly rigorous and demanding in the technical-religious evaluations carried out.
